How to Participate in Colby's Recruiting Program

Colby offers several ways to identify prospective employees for full time work, internships, and summer jobs. Penny Spear is our Recruiting Coordinator and can help you select the best way to connect with our students. Suggestions she will have for you may include the following:

eRecruiting is our system which allows you to enter jobs, review students' cover letters and resumes, and even schedule interviews, all on-line. Call 207-872-3343 or e-mail career@colby.edu for a password.

On Campus Interviewing
We will be glad to schedule your visit to campus and will accommodate requests for either an open schedule or one that will allow you to screen resumes in advance.

On Campus Information Sessions
Information sessions can be scheduled anytime during the year or the evening before you interview. They provide an informal yet productive way to educate students about your organization.

Off Campus Consortia Colby participates in recruiting consortia in New York and Boston that allow you to interview Colby students along with those from more than 20 other colleges and universities. In addition, Colby participates in a Virtual Career Fair with other Maine colleges each spring.

Resume Referral
We are happy to publicize your job opening, allow students to upload resumes to eRecruiting for you or forward resumes to you, and help students learn more about your organization. Candidates will travel to your location to be interviewed.

Job Postings
Your job or internship description may be entered on-line, mailed, faxed, called in, or emailed directly to our office at <career@colby.edu>. We will publicize all listings on eRecruiting, our internet job listing site, as well as send them in weekly email messages to students on campus. Information about your organization will also be placed in our Resource Library for use by students and recent graduates. Students will make direct application to you.

Joint Colby/Bates/Bowdoin Recruiting
You may also wish to consolidate your recruiting trips to Maine and meet with students from Colby, Bowdoin, and/or Bates colleges at a single site, or on back-to-back visits.  We are happy to help you work out the details for your trip.  Further information about our joint recruiting opportunities is available at http://www.bates.edu/admin/offices/career/bbc/index.html

Liberal Arts Career NetWORK (LACN)
Colby College is a founding member of this consortia of 28 highly selective liberal arts colleges. To post an employment opportunity that reaches students at all 28 colleges, visit www.LACN-group.org/

Whether you choose to come to Colby, recruit in a central location, conduct in-house interviews, or share job openings with us, we believe you will become acquainted with a large group of qualified applicants in a variety of fields. Contact Penny Spear, Recruiting Coordinator at 207-872-3343 or <paspear@colby.edu> for further information about any of these options.
