CONSORTIA Q & A

Q: What are Consortia Programs?
A: Our various consortia programs are joint efforts with other colleges and universities which bring together a variety of organizations to conduct formal interviews at a central location.

BIG APPLE RECRUITING CONSORTIUM (BARC)

The Big Apple Recruiting Consortium (BARC) has a specific focus on entry level positions in the Communications and Non-Profit fields. It will be held at the American Management Association Conference Center in February of 2007 and will include students from Colby, Bates, Clark, Davidson, Hobart & William Smith, Hope, and Marist Colleges and Washington & Lee University. The deadline for applying is January 14.

LIBERAL ARTS RECRUITING CONSORTIUM (LARC)

LARC-Boston Recruiting Connection, offers a job fair and interviewing day planned for Friday, November 3, 2006. Instructions on how to apply will be sent to all seniors in the Fall. The deadline for submitting resumes will be in October. Participants in this program include students from Colby, Bates, Connecticut, Holy Cross, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Trinity, and Union Colleges. https://www.myinterfase.com/BARC/student/

PLEASE NOTE: Interviewing opportunities at these programs are reserved for current seniors. LARC-Boston, however, includes a job fair with many employers seeking interns. Brief descriptions of participating organizations and program procedures may be found by accessing individual program web sites.

Pay close attention to appropriate resume deadlines (see below).

Q: What is a Resume Deadline?
A: Organizations who participate in our On- and Off-Campus Recruitment Programs require preselection as part of their interviewing process. Resumes are submitted in the manner specified for each event on the posted resume deadline dates and sent to each organization. Upon receipt, recruiters review resumes and select candidates to be interviewed. On-campus and consortia interview times are scheduled through Career Services while off-campus interviews are scheduled by the participating organization.
