The Career Center’s Entrepreneurial Alliance (EA) program provides practical support for individual career exploration by connecting student entrepreneurs to the resources necessary to support their entrepreneurial curiosity and development.
Colby now offers an Introduction to Entrepreneurship course during Jan Plan. In it, students will learn the process of developing new venture opportunities from idea through market launch and subsequent growth. This course will replace previous workshop programming offered through the Entrepreneurial Alliance.
The Career Center will continue to hold an information session on the Entrepreneurial Alliance in the fall term, as well as ad-hoc workshop programming in the spring term for those students participating in the annual business competition.
In February 2015, the Entrepreneurial Alliance started offering a new opportunity for student participants—a mentorship program. Through the mentorship program, student entrepreneurs (as an individual or a team) competing in the spring business pitch competition are matched with an alumnus/alumna or parent mentor who will assist them in developing their enterprises and in preparing for the competition.
I’D LIKE TO BE A MENTOR!
