There are several approaches to find and secure temporary housing during your summer internship.

    1. Contact local college and university housing offices
The institutions may offer summer housing in their own residence halls, or may know of places to contact.

    1. Search through online rental and sublet postings

    1. Utilize location-specific resources
Look at local newspapers or housing databases. Contact real estate agents or the local YMCA or YWCA.

    2. Ask your internship provider
Your summer internship provider may recommend affordable housing convenient to the job site. If you are searching for roommates, the organization might also be able to connect you with other summer interns.

    1. Network
Post a message in LinkedIn’s Colby College Alumni and Friends group inquiring if any local group members can offer suggestions of area summer housing options.

  1. Find a roommate
Having a roommate tends to make searching easier, and will also make housing more affordable.
