Indigenous Peoples of the Americas In the Department of Anthropology. Advisory Committee: Jeffrey Anderson (Anthropology), Sandy Grande (Education), David Nugent (Anthropology), Patricia Onion (English) The indigenous peoples of the Americas minor is a unique interdisciplinary course of study offering a survey of the cultural diversity, history, literature, political status, and contemporary issues of the indigenous peoples of South, Central, and North America. The program offers students multiple perspectives for understanding the historical and contemporary experiences and issues of the original peoples of the western hemisphere. The minor is offered to students to support and complement majors, for example, in anthropology, sociology, history, government, Latin American studies, American studies, religious studies, and environmental policy.

Americas The point scale for retention of the minor applies to all courses offered toward the minor. No courses for the minor may be taken satisfactory/unsatisfactory
