In the event of an EMERGENCY dial 5-9-1-1

Colby Emergency Response (CER) is a student-run, volunteer, EMT rescue-squad that serves the Colby College campus and community. We are a non-licensed service, functioning at the EMT-Basic level. We are dispatched through the Colby Security department as first-response rescuers to medical emergencies on campus. We are available 24 hours per day and 7 days per week, during the school year.

Requesting CER:

1. Dial 5-9-1-1 from any on campus phone (207-859-5911 from an off-campus phone) or push the red button on any blue call boxes located around campus.

2. Give the dispatcher the exact location of the patient. Include building, room number, etc.

3. Calmly tell the dispatcher the nature of the emergency - what happened and why CER is needed.

4. Be sure to alert to the dispatcher if the patient is unconscious, not breathing, or bleeding severely.

5. Give the dispatcher the number from which you are calling, or a number where you can be reached in the event that Security or CER needs more information while they are en-route.
