h What CER Offers Members:

• First responder, EMT-Basic patient assessment and care experience.

• An introduction to EMS and resources for further work within this profession.

• Continuing education and information resources for EMS.

• CEU courses taught on campus and in the surrounding townships, free of charge, good for maintaining a current Maine EMS license or National Registry certification.

• Ride-along experience with Delta Ambulance service.

• Access to books, magazines, gear catalogs, study aids, etc...

• Teaching, tutoring and TA opportunities.

• Training for patient assessments and scene management, radio usage, paperwork, etc...

 

h Requirements for Running for CER:

(1) Current EMT-Basic certification - including but not limited to a Maine EMT-B License or National Registry certification

(2) Current CPR certification

(3) Be a member of the Colby Community

 

h What is the Commitment to be a part of CER:

Rescue-Two:

(1) Must do a minimum of two shifts (48 hours) per month, ideally including 1 weekend shift (Friday or Saturday night) each semester.

(2) Must attend one CEU a month

(3) Must attend all other mandatory meetings

Rescue-One:

(1) Must do a minimum of 3 shifts (72 hours) per month, including 1 weekend shift (Friday or Saturday night) each month.

(2) Must attend one CEU a month

(3) Must attend a Rescue-One & Officer meeting once a month

(4) Must attend all other mandatory meetings
