Pack Descriptions:
There are 4 general pack set-ups used by CER - two different types of rescuer
duty packs (R1 pack and the R2/R3 packs), a blue trauma
pack and an oxygen/airway supplies duffel (the green pack). The R1, R2 and R3 packs (R2 and R3 are
identical) are carried by on-duty rescuers and the Blue and Green packs are both carried to each call in security trucks.
R2 & R3 Duty Packs:
The R2 and R3 packs are identical to one another, but used to
identify/distinguish the R2 and the R3. These first-response rescue packs are carried by the R2
and/or R3 on duty and contain the majority of the equipment used by CER.
These packs contain: PPE (Nitrile gloves, hand sanitizer, sharps-shuttle,
red-bags, CPR mask), diagnostic tools (stethoscope, BP-cuff, pen light), some airway management
equipment (bite stick, bulb-suction), trauma sheers, glucose, sterile saline, a band-aid kit and
trauma supplies (4x4 dressings, cling, abdominal pads, triangular bandages, a SAM splint, hot and
cold packs, etc...)
R1 Duty Pack:
The R1 pack is unique and is only to be carried by the Rescue-One on duty.
Because the most of the equipment needed is carried (in duplicate if both Rescue-2 and Rescue-3 are
in service) in the R2/R3 packs, the R1 pack is a small fast-pack containing only the minimized
equipment needed if first on scene. If no Rescue-2 or Rescue-3 is on duty (the Rescue-1 is running
alone), they are to use either the R2 or R3 pack.
The R1 pack contains: PPE (Nitrile gloves, hand sanitizer, red-bags, CPR mask),
diagnostic tools (stethoscope, BP-cuff, pen light, pulse-oximeter), a bite stick, trauma sheers,
a band-aid kit and some trauma supplies.
The Green Pack (O2 and Airway Duffel):
In each Security vehicle, there is a duffel containing a D-Cylinder of oxygen
(with regulator), adult, pediatric and infant non-rebreather masks and nasal cannulas, a bite stick,
a full set both of oral and nasal airways (containing 6 different sizes of each), a bag-valve-mask
and a manual suction devise. There is also one portable suction unit available. The Green Pack is
available at every call.
The Blue Pack:
Also carried in each Security truck, this pack is available upon request.
It contains extra and specialized supplies, as well as serving as a trauma pack. It contains: extra
large, regular adult and pediatric BP cuffs, an OB kit, a burn sheet, an adjustable c-collar, and
lots of extra trauma supplies. There is also an AED available.

Radio Information:
CER uses the HT1000 portable radios made by Motorola, Inc., featuring 2 channels. CER members are
paged and dispatched by Security via these radios. The HT1000 is a very simple, yet durable radio.
Damn near indestructible, and believe me we have tried. There are certainly no bells and whistles,
with very little to break. We curerntly use 36-hour nickle-cadnium batteries.
