Many thanks to the CUSRR Planning Committee and to our financial benefactors, Colby College, Colby’s HHMI steering committee, Idexx Laboratories, and Artel Inc..
We must also thank Crab Apple Whitewater for their terrific hospitality and to our Keynote Speaker Dr. Scott Murchie ’81 from Johns Hopkins University, who presented a lecture entitled, “New Views of Mercury and Mars: Fire and Ice in the Inner Solar System”.
The most sincere thanks must go to the 70 students who participated in CUSRR 2009. The quality of the scholarship and of the presentations themselves were inspiring!
For the past twenty years, summer research on the Colby College campus has been an excellent experience for many students and faculty. In an effort to strengthen this successful program, the faculty and administration have organized the Colby Undergraduate Summer Research Retreat. All Colby summer research assistants are invited to participate in CUSRR. The first day of the event is dedicated to student research - a symposium featuring student talks and posters followed by a Keynote lecture by an esteemed Colby alum. The second day features recreational activities - predominantly whitewater rafting. CUSRR is hosted by Crab Apple Whitewater, in The Forks, ME.
