Overview of CLAS Schedule

Wednesday evening–Arts@CLAS:

  • 5-7 p.m.  Dining halls are open to faculty, staff, and their families.
  • 6-8 p.m  Arts@CLAS (Museum of Arts and Bixler)
    • First 100 attendees receive a CLAS t-shirt
    • Musical performances in Given Auditorium (6-8:30 p.m.)
    • Performances and readings in Museum galleries and Bixler classrooms
    • Open studios (Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Printmaking)–come see students’ work
    • Fun food and other activities

Thursday–all day–CLAS:

  • 9:00-11:55 a.m.:
    • Oral presentations: Diamond, Davis, and Bixler
    • Wild Card sessions: Ostrove Auditorium (in Diamond)
    • Posters: Parker-Reed room in Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center
  • Noon:
    • David H. Mills Memorial Student Speech Contest: Page Commons
      • Lunch provided
      • Sponsored by Phi Beta Kappa
  • 1:00-3:55 p.m.
    • Oral presentations: Diamond, Davis
    • Wild Card sessions: Ostrove Auditorium (in Diamond)
    • Posters: Parker-Reed room in Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center
  • 4:00-5:00 p.m.
    • CLAS Highlights: Page Commons
      • Fun food from local vendors!
      • Brief student presentations–designed to be engaging for general audience
  • 6:00 p.m.  CLAS Continues (various events)

Open CLAS

  • CLAS is supplemented by additional presentation and poster sessions during the final two weeks of the term.  These sessions occur during regular class times and in regular classrooms, but the sessions are open to the Colby community.
