Report of the Trustee Commission on Alcohol
Colby College

May 24, 1996

In May, 1995, the Colby College Board of Trustees asked this Commission to examine the impact of alcohol at Colby, particularly with regard to its effects on residential and academic life. Trustees were mindful of recent national trends that show increased alcohol abuse on college campuses and of concerns and complaints raised by students and others about behavior related to alcohol on our own campus.

The Commission, comprised of four students, four faculty, four administrators, a representative of the Alumni Council, and eleven trustees -- all of whose names appear at the end of this report -- began its work in October, 1995.
