Commencement Weekend always is an emotional time for graduates and their
families. For many seniors, the Saturday before Commencement will be the
last time they sleep in a Colby room, eat Colby food or see a sunset over
Johnson Pond. So we're wondering, how did you spend your last night at
Colby? Post a brief note on this page and tell us what you did and how you felt on
the eve of your Commencement. Thanks for
contributing!
I spent my last night dancing away at the Commencement Ball with my family, my friends and their families. What a great time! I remember after the band left we all stayed and had a blast dancing to the DJ. I think the Commencment Ball is such a great send-off since everyone parties, and there are always people from all different classes, past and present. After that, there was a "Senior Keg" on Miller steps at around 2 or 3 am, it all blends togther, and then I went with 3 of my closest friends - with whom I had spent mane a late night over the years, for the last session of our "late night crew". We just bonded and tried not to think about the fact that it was our last night at Colby. I think I finally got back to my room at around 6 am. All in all I remember having very mixed emotions - excited to graduate and proud of all of my friends, yet also extremely sad at the thought of not being with my friends every day. It was a very special weekend, and I know I will always treasure those memories. My family and my friends' families all still talk about what a great weekend it was!!!
