Professor of English Phyllis Mannocchi received the Senior Class Charles Bassett Teaching Award in May at the senior class dinner that kicked off end-of-year activities for the Class of 2007. Her acceptance speech, taking themes from her Passionate Expression course, was a deconstruction of romantic love and included the line: “Ah, Senior Week. It is the time for strange loves to bloom and for others to crash and burn.”
