Kicked it into high gear to win the Maine men's portion of the Peoples Beach to Beacon 10K race last August in Cape Elizabeth, making him the fastest man in Maine.

He finished second the last two years but this time sprinted past his perennial rivals.

"He goes by me like I'm standing still. I didn't even see him coming."

"You put a little bit of pressure on yourself to be the best guy in the state. I'm finally there."
