Three persons have been nominated to serve as alumni members of the Board of Trustees.

Carol Beaumier '72 of Falls Church, Va., is managing director and a founding partner of The Secura Group, one of the premier consulting firms for financial institutions. She has served as an alumni trustee since 1997 and is a former overseer as well. She currently serves on the Colby Museum of Art's Board of Governors and was an active volunteer for the regional Campaign for Colby in Washington, D.C.

John R. Cornell Esq. '65 of Atlanta, Ga., is a senior partner in the law firm Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, one of the nation's 10 largest law firms. He has a J.D. degree from Georgetown University and an LL.M. from New York University. Two of his children, Jared '91 and Alexandra '96, his parents and a sister are alumni as well. He has served as an alumni trustee since 1997. Prior to that he was an overseer, chaired the Alumni Council and was president of the Portland (Maine) Alumni Club. He received the Colby Gavel Award in 1982 and a Colby Brick Award in 1985.

Kathryn P. Lucier O'Neil '85 of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass., is a partner in FLAG Venture Management LL.C.'s Boston office. She earned an M.B.A. degree at Harvard University and has served Colby as an overseer, head class agent and as a volunteer in the Boston regional Campaign for Colby, in career services and for reunion planning.

In accordance with the by-laws of the Alumni Association, other nominations may be made by petition to the executive secretary of the Alumni Council on or before February 15. Signatures of one percent of the members of the association are needed. In the event that no nominations are submitted, these three nominees will be declared elected by the chair of the Alumni Council.
