The writer eulogized Freeman's "amazing 44 years" as a high school English teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent of schools and also cited his numerous civic endeavors * The lion's share of the attention paid to the inaugural class of the Maine Sports Legends Hall of Honor went to the team of Bibby Levine Alfond '38 and her husband, Harold Alfond H '80, whose philanthropic contributions to sports in Maine are unsurpassed. Maine Sports Legends was conceived by a partnership of people to raise money for scholarships given through the Maine Baseball Hall of Fame.
