In recent months, Colby received contributions of $100,000 each from loyal alumni and friends. Niki and Rodger H. Silverstein '74 made an unrestricted gift to the College. Rodger, an ophthalmologist in Clifton, N.J., said he is grateful to Colby and to Professor Emerita Miriam F. Bennett, who helped him to enter medical school. Son Rhett Silverstein will join the Class of '05 in the fall. Mary Ramundo '80, an M.D., and Joseph Faulstich '80, a building contractor, met at Colby, where Joe was three-time men's hockey MVP as a goaltender for Coach Jack Kelley. The couple, from Burlington, Vt., endowed a financial aid fund. Bruce and Ellen Lederman established their second Colby research fellowship--The Mark Lederman '66 Memorial Student Research Fellowship in Environmental Science, a memorial to Bruce's brother, who died in a swimming accident after his sophomore year. Their gift helps meet a 3-to-1 challenge grant for student research summer fellowships.
