Hello, Class of 2000! Hope that this finds you all doing well. There are quite a few engagements to report! Colby's newest members of the real world have really taken life on with full force. For a job market that was not too excited about us, we have certainly been creative by diving into extraordinary things! Michelle Cook moved to Catalina Island, Calif., and has been teaching first-hand marine science to students. . . . Kathy Manu is living in Budapest, Hungary, teaching English and writing for an English-speaking paper. . . . In N.Y.C. I often see roommates Michelle Chandler, Rachel Rokicki, Allyson Giard and Brooke Fitzsimmons. Michelle is working in the fashion department at GQ Magazine, Rachel is a publicity assistant at Basic Books, Ally is in grad school at Columbia working towards her master's in creative writing, and Brooke is publicizing books at a small PR firm. Brian Newman also lives in N.Y.C. and reports that roommate Paul Neundorfer, who works for Lehman Bros., is in his first off-off-Broadway play . . . who would have guessed? I ran into Tim Cassidy and Mead Rust at a N.Y.C. party. Mead is working for the History Channel, and Tim is about to set sail for the Caribbean. . . . Beth Festa is living in Manhattan and works for the District Attorney's Office. . . . I also run into Melissa Alioto, who works for CondeNast Traveller, and her roommates, Caroline Blair, a paralegal, and Beth Maloney, of Deutsche Bank. . . . Julie Langsdorf also has chosen N.Y.C. as her home, and so did Ann Farley, who also works as a paralegal. . . Across the way in Pittsburgh, Justin Ehrenwerth and Eric Lantzman are roommates. Justin works as a Coro Fellow ameliorating antagonisms in world race relations, while Eric is in his first year at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School and prepares to heal people. . . . Venola Mason works for Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., as the graduate intern for multicultural programming. . . . In Baltimore, Sarah Howard attends Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, while up in Maine, Lauren Stevens is teaching at Hebron Academy. . . . Down in Austin, Lambie Bickford is working at a small technological holding and acquisition firm. . . . In Massachusetts, Kate Isley is working as a paralegal at Smith and Dugan and announced her engagement to Kenny Rausch, former Colby assistant hockey coach! . . . Junko Goda is working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and lives in Brighton with Shuba Srivatsan and Jess Mulready '00. And what would Boston do without Lou Distasi, Andrew Tripp, Denny Clark and Jared Beers providing great weekend entertainment in their luxurious apartment! Mindy Mraz, working for Dove Consulting, and roommate Annie Miller often join these guys, while roommates Becca Bischoff, Jen Bubrick, Abbie Parker (who Brian Newman told me works for NASA) and Jenny Kiszkiss throw their own soirees! Jenny reports that Trent Cunningham is a high school algebra teacher in Maine while coaching JV basketball. . . . Jodi Dakin does business development for TOCCI in Massachusetts. She is dancing ballet again and socially drinking beers with Abbie. . . . Law anyone? Rob Webb works for the law firm of Ropes & Gray in Boston, while Em Dupill and Laura Montgomery are roommates and paralegals in N.Y.C. . . . Kristin Moresi has worked for Governor Swift's press office in Boston, Mass., since July. . . . Gina DiBella lives in London and works on a museum internship. . . . Also abroad, Freddy Perowne is playing hockey in Yugoslavia! . . . On the N.Y.C. art scene, Stu Luth works for Salomon Smith Barney and is getting into the acting world, while Liz Frankel works for the Manhattan Theatre Club. . . . Noam Dorros spent the fall beginning his film career, and Katie Stewart is currently working for a documentary production company on a series on West Point. . . . Becky Munsterer is still mesmerizing the cute guys, now at St. Lawrence University while recruiting potential students. . . . In the nation's capitol Kelly Falsani braves the 'hood each day, while Jon Brett Engel commands the hill. . . . I am happy to announce that since the fall, Emily Mahlman, my roommate, is gainfully employed at CBS News in N.Y.C. while I make sure the magazine world always has plenty of photographers to keep it alive. Em and I have also dipped our hands into the fabulous world of interior decorating. Anyone looking for theme rooms? . . . We wish all of 2001 a fabulous summer and a happy one-year graduation anniversary in May! Love always . . .
