The Nominating Committee of the Alumni Council has nominated for the position of Alumni Trustee one alumna and one alumnus, with three-year terms to begin at Commencement 2002. Nominated for a second term each are Deborah England Gray '85 and Allan van Gestel '57. Gray lives in Andover, Mass., and is vice president and general counsel of Sapient Corporation in Cambridge. She currently serves on the Nominating Committee and is vice chair of the Student Affairs Committee. Van Gestel lives in Rockport, Mass., and is associate justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court. He serves on the Development, Educational Policy and Physical Plant committees and is the parent of two Colby graduates, Eric '84 and Laura '00. In accordance with the by-laws of the Alumni Association, other nominations may be made by petition to the executive secretary of the Alumni Council with the signatures of one percent of the members of the association on or before Feb. 1, 2002. In the event no nominations are received by petition, the above candidates will be declared elected by the chair of the Alumni Council. |
