Continue to Connect, Learn, and Keep Moving Forward

After many years of organizing the Alumni College summer program, the College has decided to replace the summer residency program with a new one-day Alumni College event that will take place the Thursday of Reunion Weekend, beginning in 2019. We have appreciated the many years of attendance of devoted alumni and guest faculty lecturers, but we also want to provide access to Colby’s teaching faculty to a broader group of alumni while they are visiting campus for their reunions. All interested alumni (regardless of their reunion year) will be able to join the one-day program. Most exciting, given the timing of this program, is that members of the 50th Class Reunion Planning Committee have been included in planning the theme and choosing the faculty who will be invited to teach on the program

In the upcoming years, we are also planning to create an Alumni College weekend experience in Boston and to develop additional platforms to expand lifelong learning opportunities for Colby alumni. To this end, for those of you who are interested in visiting Colby each summer to learn and spend time on campus, Colby will continue to offer various summer programs through its Special Programs office including the “Great Books at Colby” program.

Thanks again for your participation in the Alumni College in past years. We hope that you’ll continue to take part in various educational opportunities available at the College, including Alumni College: Reunion 2019. Additional information about this program will be available in February 2019 at colby.edu/reunion/.
