Home to: Residence halls | | Completed in 1997, the Anthony-Mitchell-Schupf residence hall set a new standard for dormitories. Designed with plenty of student input, the halls have rooms arranged in small clusters to provide maximum privacy while still promoting a neighborhood feel. Study rooms are located throughout the building, and each wing on each floor has its own living room. The front door is close to the library and the academic quad; the back side offers a view of Johnson Pond. | Johnson Pond, site of ice skating and pick-up hockey games during the winter, also is the venue for the annual Johnson Pond Regatta each fall, when students race elaborate home-made rafts across and back. The Outing Club uses the pond for canoe events at its annual Spring Mud Meet, and the 6.2-acre pond is the focus of research conducted in several of the natural science departments. |
