|  The Bixler Art and Music Center contains classrooms, studios, practice rooms, a large auditorium, an electronic music studio, and the Art and Music Library. Ample studio space in the Crawford Art Studios allows students to carry out their work at their own pace. Colby also offers a pottery room, a printmaking shop, photographic darkrooms and areas for graphic arts. Bixler also is home to the Colby College Museum of Art, including the Lunder Wing, which displays American art from the permanent collection, and the Paul J. Schupf Wing for the Art of Alex Katz.
|  A monumental sculpture by Richard Serra, 4,5,6, welcomes visitors at the entrance to the Colby College Museum of Art. Each of the three solid steel blocks in the 2000 work measures four by five by six feet, and each one weighs more than a Greyhound bus.
