Museum of ArtThe Colby College Museum of Art includes the Jetté and Davis galleries, the Paul J. Schupf Wing for the Art of Alex Katz, and the Lunder Wing for American art. In the museum's impressive permanent collection of drawings and paintings are significant bodies of work by Alex Katz, Winslow Homer, and John Marin. The museum exhibits selections from the permanent collection as well as exhibitions of works on loan from other institituions and collectors. Every other spring semester The Joan Whitney Payson Collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Art is on view, and each fall the museum features the work of an emerging artist in an annual series of exhibitions titled "currents." A resource for art classes of every period and focus, the museum also exhibits faculty works.
Museum2The Colby College Museum of Art's permanent collection includes works by Rembrandt, Goya, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir, John Singleton Copley, Gilbert Stuart, Mary Cassatt, Winslow Homer, Georgia O'Keeffe, Richard Serra, John Marin, Alex Katz, Robert Rauschenberg, and Agnes Martin.
