The CTL provides on-demand consultations with Colby faculty on areas related to teaching and learning such as course design, developing learning objectives, assessing student learning, actively engaging students, designing effective assignments, creating rubrics, reviewing course evaluations, etc.  As partners in the consultation process, the CTL director (Carol Hurney) and faculty member(s) work through the teaching or learning issue with assistance from evidence-based resources and their collective expertise. All interactions, discussions, and/or data are private.  Consultations are available to individuals, teams, small groups, and departments. The CTL director is also available for career consultations on topics such as teaching portfolios, conference presentations, and scholarly productivity. Request a consultation using the form below.
