Colby Companions
Colby Companions is a "Big Brothers/Big Sisters" program operated by the Colby Volunteer Center and Winslow Elementary School. Colby students meet one on one with needy students (grades 2-5) from the school. The program aims to expose the youth to new settings, activities, etc. as well as provide a positive role model for the children. Colby Companions is a subsidary of the Colby Volunteer Center and is not affiliated with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America.
Volunteers meet with children for two to three hours each week. Colby Companions
often take their little siblings to the dining hall and athletic center. Taxi
vouchers are available if transportation is needed.
