Alumni and employer engagement is a cornerstone of our success at DavisConnects. Through these collaborations we bring incredible students to employers and valuable experiences to students. From easy access for posting opportunities to high-impact in-person recruiting events, we provide a mutually beneficial environment for all of our employer partners. Whether you’re looking to post a typical summer internship, full-time opportunity, or an internship during our unique January term, Jan Plan, our team can engage with you to meet your needs and ensure student success.
Colby students are like no other and we invite your organization to recruit at Colby and discover what makes Colby students so unique.
Key Dates 2020
Industry EXPOs: 8/17/20 – 9/21/20
Colby’s signature Industry EXPO series allows organizations to engage with students in a novel and highly productive way.
Sept. 14: Business and Tech EXPO
Sept. 21: Investment Management EXPO
Paving the Road to a Future in Finance: 10/19/20 and 10/26/20
DavisConnects is hosting its 9th annual Paving the Road conference, organized by Colby alumni leaders in finance to expose liberal arts students of all majors and class years to career pathways in finance. This year, we are hosting PTR virtually and are bringing an incredible array of panelists and moderators from all over the world to provide students with a solid understanding of the financial services landscape.
Colby’s signature Industry EXPO series is the perfect way for students to learn about and consider industries and roles they might not have known about and for employers to build their talent brand with a large and engaged audience. Virtual EXPOs feature between 14-18 firms that share industry, career, and company insights as well as offer full-time and internship opportunities with 100 or more eager students of all class years and majors. This year’s Consulting EXPO attracted 294 students and featured 18 firms and 26 breakout sessions. To learn more about our EXPOs, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Employer Recruitment Resources
Post your internship or job
Handshake is our on-campus recruiting platform that allows you to manage your recruiting activities. It provides employers with easy ways to post internships, jobs, and events.
Schedule a virtual recruitment visit
Our employer engagement team will help promote your company and the positions for which you are recruiting in order to maximize the return on your recruiting investment at Colby. To keep our employer partners and our college community safe during COVID, we are not permitting in-person employer visits this academic year.
Post a micro-internship
We encourage employers and alumni to provide opportunities for Colby students to work on short-term (5 to 40 hours), paid projects that put their liberal arts skills to use. Every organization has projects that nobody seems to be able to get to or that are not an optimal use of your staff’s time. Rather than use freelancers to build prospect lists, automate your spreadsheets, create social media content, research competitors or market landscapes, why not hire talented Colby students instead? What better way to identify and audition new talent?

Job and internship postings will remain active in our Handshake system for 30 days unless otherwise noted by the employer.
Note: Posting on Handshake assumes agreement to our recruiting policies.
To ensure that all parties (students, recruiting organizations) have the best possible experience, we have established policies and procedures concerning interviews, offers of employment, and other aspects of the hiring process.
