Dr. Alfonso Ortega, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist originally from Puerto Rico, who has a special interest in mind/body medicine and wellness. He is passionate about helping students develop a sense of awareness and self-worth, and in the acquisition of personal exploration, decision making and goal-setting skills needed to facilitate their educational and personal development. He is committed to providing culturally sensitive services and is bilingual in Spanish and English. Dr. Ortega integrates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques into the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, and chronic health issues. In addition, Dr. Ortega also has a professional degree in culinary arts from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France and is interested in the connection between food and mood. He fully understands nutrition as a key factor that leads to a healthier lifestyle and overall wellness.
