Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor, One Year Department: Computer Science Department Date:1/16/06 Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor. We have a full-time, one-year opening in computer science, commencing September 1, 2006. Ph.D. (preferred) or ABD in computer science or a related field. Colby is a private, highly selective and highly ranked liberal arts college located in central Maine about 3 hours north of Boston. The student body numbers some 1800, the faculty 175. The Department of Computer Science currently includes three full-time faculty positions and attracts 10-12 majors and 8-9 minors each year. We have a heterogeneous computing environment with a mixture of Linux workstations, Windows machines, and Macintoshes. Colby College places a high value on teaching. The annual teaching load is 5 courses.
