The Co-generation plant on campus produces steam for heat and electricity.

This emissions audit sets a baseline from which Colby College can make institutional changes that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The audit was compiled by Carolyn Hunt '05 and Brandon Smithwood '06 and has been continued by Jamie O'Connell ('08) who completed an honors thesis on Colby's emmissions in 2008..

The study takes into account emissions from all college sectors, and converts these data into Carbon Dioxide equivalent emission factors (eCO2).

We are making these data available to the public and other institutions to help others in reaching their emission targets and to continue the effort to reach the region's voluntary greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.
