This event will formally open the Eileen M. Curran Papers housed in Special Collections. English professor Curran taught at Colby from 1958 until her retirement in 1992. She was a highly respected and active member of the international Victorian studies community. An authority on 19th-century British periodicals, she was an associate editor of The Wellesley Index to Victorian Periodicals and established her own Curran Index. She died in Maine in 2013, after which her working papers came to Special Collections. Three scholarly colleagues—Patrick Leary, Diane Magras, and Gary Simons—will share insights on Curran’s remarkable life and work. Please join us!
