Runnals / Strider Theater

The Department of Theater and Dance at Colby Presents Mrs. Warren's Profession by George Bernard Shaw with direction by Richard Sewell. G.B. Shaw slyly turns melodrama's sterotype of the poor "fallen woman" upside down, and just when she looks like a "rising woman" he flips the story again. Sparks fly when a gutsy mother, Kitty Warren, and her very brilliant daughter, Vivie, hammer out claims on each other and on the moral high ground. This play, banned at the beginning of the 20th century, can still provoke a hot controversy. (Mature teens; two hours).
