"Is That Mercury in Your Lunch?"
Michael Belliveau of the Natural Resources Council of Maine gives a timely presentation on a hot environmental and polical issue – murcury pollution and efforts to eliminate discharges into the environment. Mercury is ubiquitous in the food chain and very toxic to humans and wildlife. But eliminating mercury isn't easy, pitting midwestern states agains the east, and involving powerful industries (automobiles, energy) and consumer behavior that's hard to change.
