Elizabeth DeSombre returns to Colby for a lecture entitled:
"Flags of Convenience and International Ocean Regulation"
Elizabeth DeSombre holds a Ph.D in Political Science from Harvard University. Her first book, Domestic Sources of International Environmental Policy: Industry, Environmentalists, and U.S. Power, which was published by MIT Press in 2000 while she was on the faculty at Colby, won the 2001 Chadwick F. Alger Prize for the best book published in 2000 in the area of international organization, and the 2001 Lynton Caldwell Award for the best book published on environmental policy. Currently on leave from Colby, Beth is currently the Frost Associate Professor of Environmental Studies and Associate Professor of Political Science at Wellesley College.
