CONFIDENTIALITY

All Health Service encounters are treated with confidentiality. Counseling Services information and records are kept separate from a student's medical record and information is not shared with anyone without the student's specific written permission. The only exception to this is if we believe a student is a threat to him/herself or another person. Likewise, information from the medical record or infirmary admissions is not given to anyone--friends, professors, or even parents--without the student's express permission. HIV/AIDS testing records are confidential and are kept separate from the student's medical record.
