Please visit my personal home page with information on my research, some course materials, and my recipe for Linzertorte.

I have published a book on Alfred von Tirpitz and German Right-Wing Politics, 1914-1930 (Atlantic Highlands, 1998) and finished a book manuscript on right-wing women in the bourgeois parties of Weimar Germany. I have published articles and book chapters on the history of childhood, on German putschists and right-wing women, and on Hitler's Swiss funding. I am beginning research on Nazi-occupied Europe in 1940-41. My non-academic pursuits are: classical music (cello), soccer (contact me if you want to play with some faculty and students at Colby!), and -- most importantly -- being a father of two small children.
