Schedule and Information

We are delighted to host a series of activities for the Alumni of Color Network (AOCN) during Homecoming 2019. We are excited to welcome alumni back to campus and help to build connections between alumni and current students. We have free accommodation (a limited number of rooms are available), BBQ tickets, and a special dinner for all alumni that join the event and help us develop deeper connections between alumni and students. We hope to see you back on campus this fall!

Drummer Max Roach’s We Insist! (subtitled Freedom Now Suite) was one of several jazz compositions from the early years of the civil rights movement that explicitly addressed the topic of racial inequality. First recorded in 1960, the work consists of five movements centered around the Emancipation Proclamation and the growing African independence movements of the 1950s.(Funded by the Ermanno Comparetti Concert Fund)


There are a limited number of shared rooms secured for alumni at the Best Western Plus Waterville Grand Hotel in Waterville Oct. 4-5. Please register by Sept. 25 if you need housing during the weekend. Hotel rooms are available on a first-come first-reserved basis through the Homecoming 2019 registration link and are limited in quantity. Hotels rooms will not be available aftger this date.


The first 25 alumnnae/i that register for Homecoming 2019 may be reimbursed up to $250 for air/ground transportation to attend Homecoming 2019 in support of building deeper student-alumni connections on campus. Bus schedules between Portland and Augusta can be found at the Concord Coach Lines website. To be reimbursed, we’ll need final scanned receipts submitted to in the alumni office prior to your departure from campus.
