Do I need to register for Homecoming?

Yes. All parents, alumni, and guests are asked to register for Homecoming. There will be printed programs and gifts at the registration area until 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Where is parking for Homecoming?

Parking is available in various areas across campus. Colby alumni, parents, and friends participating in the Colby Athletics tailgate should proceed to the Colby tailgate area next to the football field just beyond the parking lot. Parents and fans of the opposing football team should proceed to the parking lot with “Visitor Parking” signage for parking and tailgating activities.

Where are the restrooms?

Restrooms are available across campus, including Cotter Union and near the Homecoming welcome area in the alumni center.

What about meals?

Families looking to join the Ludy ’21 and Pacy ’27 Levine Homecoming Weekend Barbecue must purchase tickets in advance when registering for the event. The fee for the lunch is $20 for adults and $9 for children. Colby students are free, but must register for the meal.

Families and guests may eat in the dining halls Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. For a list of specific dining halls and times please refer to the Homecoming Schedule. Meal prices are $6 for breakfast, $8 for lunch, and $10 for dinner. Children five and under are free; ages six to 11 are half price. Cash only.

What is there to do around Waterville?

Waterville is home to 15,000 residents and boasts a downtown district that features a municipal auditorium (the Waterville Opera House), Railroad Square Cinema, one of America’s great independent cinemas (three screens), and many locally owned businesses. Visitors will also find a half-dozen hotels, two hospitals, a multiplex movie theater, and nationally recognized businesses—Starbucks, Home Depot, and others—within city limits.

How can I get professional photos of my family at Homecoming?

The College contracts with a professional photographer to take photographs of Colby families near Johnson Pond from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. Photographs are printed onsite and can be picked up 15-30 minutes after the photos are taken. All photo sessions are provided free of charge.
