About the facilitator:

Kate Carlisle, Director of Communications



As the Director of Communications, Kate provides both strategic and operational direction for our communication needs at Colby, including everything from media relations to internal communications. Prior to her arrival at Colby this January, she worked in media relations and PR at Wesleyan University and Franklin & Marshall College. Her first career in journalism spanned 30 years, the last 25 of them at The Washington Post.

In addition to her work experience, Kate has presented workshops on this topic, sharing real-life examples and giving practical tips in using effective communication with others.

She has three grown children and lives in Waterville with her ancient dog.
