Colby News

Record-Setting Research
Colby students set a record for participation at Colby's ninth annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, April 30-May 2. More than 650 students—about a third of the student body—gave talks or presented posters during the three-day symposium and associated sessions. Presentations ranged from what may be the first econometric study of The Effect of Religious Participation on Suicide to an environmental studies project, The Carbon Emissions of the Boston Red Sox. Seventy-four faculty members mentored students from 27 programs and departments. Abstracts of hundreds of research projects are available online.

The Mules (13-5), ranked ninth in the nation, play fourth-ranked Hamilton in a regional semifinal Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Hamilton. Coverage of the team's march to the nationals is online.
