OPTION B: the long way. Try this is you have any problem getting
Option A to work:
Windows NT
Double-click
on Network Neighborhood;
double click "Colby"
Double-click General_Server
You
will see this message:
"Incorrect password or unknown username for:
\\General_Server
Underneath,in
the box next to "connect as", enter "guest"(without the quotes);
do not enter any password. Click OK.
Double-click
"General_Server."
You
now see all contents - click
on whichever folder you want.
Windows
95/98
If
first starting the machine, at the logon screen enter 'guest'
in the user name field and 'residence' in the password field.
If past the initial logon screen, go to 'Start' | 'Shut Down'
| 'Close all programs and log on as a different user' and click
Yes. When the log on screen appears enter 'guest' in the user
name field and 'residence' in the password field.
[Note: In order to access the General Server the user must be
logged on to the network. By-passing the log on process will generate
an error when trying to access the General Server.]
Double-click
on Network Neighborhood..
Double-click
General_Server
Log
on as "guest"; click OK.
You
now see all contents - click
on whichever folder you want.
