SCS Policy on Removing Viruses:
Some viruses are very malicious and can cause major computer problems.

SCS will make their best effort in removing a virus. We can not guarantee when removing a virus that it may not cause more problems. In some instances removing viruses from the computer may adversely affect the operating system. This can cause serious problems and may require re-installation. Since SCS does not reformat or install OS's you would then need to contact the vendor or take the machine to a local repair shop in town...or try to fix it yourself.

    Follow these simple steps:
  • Back up your documents regularly
  • Keep your virus definitions up to date.
  • Run Windows Updates weekly or more often.
  • Use a personal firewall. Software or hardware versions are also available. XP Firewall Instructions from Microsoft
  • Beware of email labeled SPAM. Don't open it unless you're expecting it.
  • Keep manufacturers 'restore disks' at hand. They may ease reinstallation issues.

Please visit the ITS main page for up to date your questions!

Thank you
