| Victoria Archibald Class of 1998 Majors: International Studies, French Studies Victoria Archibald is an account manager at
EdelmanPublic Relations in Silicon Valley where she currently manages
accountstrategy, program planning and day-to-day account activities
for Internet-architectedCRM-suite provider Synchrony
Communications. Victoria also co-managesdaily PR activities for
i2 Technologies' CRM initiative, and Agilent TechnologiesChannel
Partners program. She has also managed Edelman's VeriSignand
Athoc accounts. Prior to joining Edelman Silicon
Valley, Victoriaworked for the premier hi-tech public relations firm,
The Weber Group,managing launch and pre-IPO strategies for several
optical networking anddigital imaging start-up companies in the
Washington, DC metro area. Victoria also managed federal and
congressional-level Internet securityissues for a number of Fortune
50 and privacy software companies. Previous to
her work for Weber, Victoria worked forthe finance division of the
National Republican Congressional Committeewhere she was appointed
deputy director of the Business Leadership Trustand Congressional
Forum, $100,000 and $25,000 corporate political actioncommittees. Aside from her everyday fundraising duties and
donorrelations, Victoria planned trips to New York City and Palm
Springs forcorporate donors and Members of Congress. Victoria began her career at Burson-Marsteller,
atthe time the largest global public relations firm, in Washington,
DC, whereshe worked on federal transportation regulation in the
public affairs practice,focusing primarily on major airline,
shipping, cruise line, and bussingissues. Colby's International
Studies program enabled Victoria to understandhow to work on a global
team, because she learned that the way Americansdo things isn't the
way that all people do things. Due to the breadthof the major,
Victoria gained a basis in government as well which she coulduse on
