Abby Lambert
Class of 1998
Major: International Studies, French Studies
Minor: Administrative Science
Recognizing that finance and an intimate knowledge
of business serve as an effective foundation for any profession, Abby moved
to New York City after graduation to join The Carson Group (presently Thompson
Financial/ Carson), a financial consulting firm. During her tenure at Carson,
Abby was initially a part of the Investment Banking Services Group, working
closely Goldman Sachs on their equity placement deals. In June 1999,
she transferred to Carson’s San Francisco office to join the Telecommunications
Group. Abby's experience at Carson was very rewarding and gave her
a complete, in-depth understanding of capital markets
Leaving Carson in October 1999, Abby joined a Palo
Alto, CA-based start-up, Achieva.com. This was due to a desire both
to leave consulting, as well as an interest in furthering her experience
in business. After six months with Achieva, Abby took advantage of
an opportunity with a very early stage software company, Vectiv Corporation.
From May 2000 through the present, she has worked as the manager of corporate
development, negotiating strategic partnerships and data licensing deals,
developing the company’s pricing strategy and coordinating the company's
market strategy.
Ultimately, Abby plans to leverage her business experience and Colby
degree for work in the international trade arena. She anticipates
returning to school for a joint JD/MA degree
