Backups are provided for Colby’s faculty and staff computers and run on a scheduled basis. If your backups do not appear to be running properly, or you are unable to find the CrashPlan client (described below), and you wish to have your data backed up, please contact the ITS Support Center at email@example.com or ext. 4222.
All files except temporary and logs are backed up automatically.
When was my Macintosh computer last backed up?
CrashPlan automatically backups your computer data. If you would like to confirm a successful backup, you can follow these steps:
- In the top right corner of your screen, up near the clock, find the CrashPlan icon and click it (see screenshot in step 2). If the CrashPlan icon is not there, click the magnifying glass to search for it and open it.
- When the menu appears, click on the gear icon in the lower right corner and select “Open Code42 CrashPlan…”
- In the window that appears you should see your computer listed. The icon to the left of the name will indicate the current status of your backup. See icon key below.
Please call ITS Support at firstname.lastname@example.org or ext. 4222 if you do not have CrashPlan installed on your computer or it is not backing up your data.
