Backups are provided for Colby’s faculty and staff computers and run on a scheduled basis. If your backups do not appear to be running properly, or you are unable to find the CrashPlan client (described below), and you wish to have your data backed up, please contact the ITS Support Center at email@example.com or ext. 4222.
All files except temporary and logs are backed up automatically.
When was my Windows computer last backed up?
CrashPlan automatically backs up your computer data. If you would like to confirm a successful backup, you can follow these steps:
- Click on your Start button (lower left corner of your screen) and choose “All Programs”.
- From the list of programs that appears, find “Code42 CrashPlan” and click to expand it (see screenshot in step 3).
- From the expanded menu choose “Code42 CrashPlan”.
- In the window that appears you should see your computer listed. The icon to the left of the name will indicate the current status of your backup. See icon key below.
Please call the ITS Support Center at firstname.lastname@example.org or ext. 4222 if you do not have CrashPlan installed on your computer or it is not backing up your data.
