Schedule of Events

Students, families, and community members are invited to attend the annual Fall Shabbaton on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4 at Colby College. See the complete schedule below and come take part in some or all of the weekend’s events.

Highlighting this year’s Shabbaton is soulful Jewish singer Neshama Carlebach, who will lead Shabbat services and perform a Saturday-night concert at the Waterville Opera House.

 

Friday, November 3rd, 2017

5:45 – 7 p.m.: Shabbat Dinner, Foss Dining Hall

7 – 8:30 p.m.: Musical Shabbat Services with Neshama Carlebach, accompanied by piano and guitar, Foss Dining Hall

 

Saturday, November 4th, 2017

10 – 11:30 a.m.: Shabbat Morning Prayer Hike. Meet at the President’s House for an easy walk through the woods, with prayer and song. The President’s House sits above Mayflower Hill Drive at the south end of campus. 

12 noon.: Shabbat Lunch and Torah Study, Millett House, Colby campus.

4:30 – 5:30 p.m.: Cocktail Reception in honor of Center for Small Town Jewish Life supporters. Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center.

6 – 7 p.m.: Dinner on your own in downtown Waterville.

7:30 p.m.: Neshama Carlebach and the Glory to God Gospel Singers in concert at the Waterville Opera House
