Workgroup Statement of Purpose
The Workgroup was formed with these goals in mind:
- To plan and coordinate staff training and development activities
- To identify human and other resources for staff support
- To promote the importance of staff training/development within the Library's culture
Workgroup Mission Statement
The Workgroup aims to achieve its goals by:
- Providing instructional opportunities that address specific staff training needs
- Example: arranging sessions in Word, Excel, and other programs as needed.
- Gathering and disseminating information on staff support resources
- Example: finding out about computer manuals, Colby personnel and other resources
- Example: maintaining a web site/directory that helps staff utilize available resources
- Acquiring instructional tools for staff use
- Example: acquiring manuals, videos, etc. as needed or as requested by staff
- Providing discussion forums
- Example: organizing meeting to discuss Library structure and department interaction
- Example: soliciting staff opinions via surveys and questionnaires
