A ROBOTEL GLOSSARY
- Workstation A networked computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
There are twenty-six workstations in the Davis Classroom: one Instructor's station and
twenty-five student stations.
- Instructor's workstation The computer at the front of the
Davis Classroom to which the Robotel Control Console
is attached. Its ID number is 0.
- Student workstation Any of the twenty-five computers in the
classroom labelled from 1 to 26.
- Workstation ID number Each Workstation has a ID number from 0 to 26 on its monitor.
- Videobroadcasting station The workstation whose screen
is displayed on at least one other monitor in the classroom. The Instructor's or
any Student's station may videobroadcast but only one monitor can be broadcast at a time.
- Videoreceiving station Any station displaying a
videobroadcasted screen. I'ts keyboard and mouse are locked.
- Controlling station The station that is in control of the videobroadcasting
station. By default, a newly assigned videobroadcasting station is controlled by its own
mouse and keyboard, however control can be switched to any other workstation.
