Flash Drive not appearing on Desktop
This is for anyone who plugs in his or her flash drive and nothing shows up on the Desktop.
Note: if the flash drive shows up on a Mac and not on a PC, back up your files on the PC before proceeding or else you will lose all of your files!

Go to Finder > LRC > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. |

Once you are in Disk Utility select your flash drive. Click on the Erase tab at the top.

Select MS-DOS File System (Windows format) as your Volume Format. This will allow documents to be seen in both the Windows format and the Mac format.

Click Erase at the bottom. This will re-format your flash disk so that afterwards files can be seen on both Macs and PCs.
