LRC Projector Set-up

1)

Pull down screen and window blinds if necessary.

2)

Turn lights off to turn on projector (fluorescent lights interfere with the remote signal).

3)

Turn on projector with green power button on remote (point remote at projector, or at screen).

Note:
If the triangle at the top of the remote (outlined in red) does not light up when pushing the input or power buttons, the battery is dead

4)

Configure desired media in the Project Tower

Power:

Turn on the master power by pushing the red button above VCR / DVD player. This must be turned on before any of the machines below it can be used.

For iMac:

Press the input button on projector remote until INPUT-A is selected. This brings up the screen of the instructor’s computer on the projector’s screen.

  • If the professor wants sounds and sound is not coming out, check the silver cable on the back of the computer.
  • If the screen reads ‘out of range,’ make sure the iMac screen resolution is 1024x768
  • Go to System Preferences > Displays, and select the appropriate resolution in the table on the left.

For VCR (NTSC) or DVD:

Press the input button on projector remote until S-Video is selected. Turn VCR / DVD player on, use the VCR / DVD button to choose which option you want to use and insert media. Use the VCR / DVD remote for all controls for both options.

Note: VCR should be set to tuner.

For Cable TV:

Set the input to Video, and choose the VHS option on the VHS / DVD player. You can then channel up / down on the VCR remote (or directly on the player itself).

For Laptops:

Use INPUT-B. Attach the laptop with the black cable in the drawer (attach Mac cable to black cable for an iMac laptop) and attach the other end to the plug next to the red and white plugs. Use the silver, red and white and black cable for sound. Attach silver cable to headphone jack in the laptop and the red and white cables to the corresponding red and white plugs on the station.

For Laser discs:

Press the input button on projector remote until INPUT-D is selected.

5)

Turn everything off when finished.

(Remember: fluorescent lights must be turned off to allow the remote signal).
